Stayed in Door County for the weekend and on the way back home stopped at this place for breakfast. It was fantastic. They have a self-serve coffee and water station, which pleasantly added to the already homey feel of the cafe. The server we had that day, Bonnie, was extremely nice and helpful. After our order was put in we were able to hear our food start to sizzle on the stove top. We ordered breakfast, I got "The Titanic" which was 2 eggs, breakfast potatoes, sausage (or bacon/ham), and French toast (or pancakes). Yes, I went there very hungry and I left very satisfied.

Arrived for brunch at 11:10am with a party of 5 and was told by three people including Kim that they could not take us. I have never experienced such a thing where they were open for business (breakfast and lunch) and we were not even give an option to even wait for a table. Three people who walked in after us were seated. Were we refused for the color of our skin? ... I'm not sure what other reason there would be? Kim - not a way to run your business. Worst experience ever experienced and sadly my 2 kids and mother had to witness it.

Went by myself this past weekend and had THE BEST grilled cheese of my life along with a cup of chicken dumpling that was pretty darn good too. Can't wait to go back for another 3 cheese grilled cheese! Very nice dining alone on the cozy front porch next to the fireplace. Only thing missing was the snow.

Pretty dang good! It was a must stop on our second visit to Door County. Great food at good prices. Will be stopping in for breakfast next time we are that way.

Summary - rough and rude service, long wait for below average food. Tried this place on Sunday for brunch and we both felt it was really, really rough. When we arrived we were curtly informed that while there were tables open it would be a 30 minute wait for food. Peculiar since most restaurants staff so that they can serve all of the tables. This is also a very small place. We were seated and were instructed that we have to get our own coffee. The coffee was weak. I ordered an orange juice. This was delivered by a guy with body odor that would offend anyone. Worse yet he was holding the glass by the rim with his full hand palming it! He set it on the table with such force that it spilled all over the place. He didn't notice this. He also didn't notice that I wouldn't drink it due to the unsanitary way he handled the glass. By far the worst service was dished out by a crass, curt septuagenarian with tattoos on both ankles. This woman should not be in the service business. She would bark orders at customers, the kitchen and anyone in her way. It's hard to describe how off-putting this was. The table next to us took to mimicking and mocking her as she barked at them that they would "HAVE TO PAY for the extra dollop of sauce they requested. It was actually never delivered to them, rather one of them had to get up and go to the kitchen to get it. When the food finally arrived it was nothing but below average. We ordered the omelet with Anaheim chilies in a tortilla. It comes with nothing on the side so we ordered bacon and potatoes as well. The omelet was served with Pace salsa straight from the jar and canned, slimy Anaheim chilies. It was edible but not much more. Will not be back - NOT recommended.

I would give this place zero if I could - my husband and I were in town for our anniversary and amidst shopping stopped in for a coffee (it says cafe). As soon as we entered, we were literally barked at that there were no tables ready and we would have to wait. My husband asked for two coffees to go and we were handed two empty cups and then ignored. Erm - coffee? I don't think we paid for empty cups...She looked at us and then rudely told us the coffee was around the corner towards the back of the restaurant. We got our coffee (watered down and terrible), which we threw away after a few sips so we could forget about the awful experience. All in all - rude, rude, rude. From what I saw on the tables, the food looked messy and substandard.

We have been to KIMZ several times and have always had great food and good service. The food is fresh and delicious at reasonable prices. This time we brought six friends and found our male waiter to be very rude and in accommodating. Unfortunately our friends will not go back. Five stars for food, but one for service.

Fantastic spot! I love the homey feel. I had the breakfast burrito which did not disappoint. And the homemade rye bread was very very good! Check this place out, it's too cute not to.

We were in Sturgeon Bay for vacation. Found this place at the same address as was listed for New Leaf Cafe. We were glad we stayed after being made to feel really welcome by the owner! The coffee bar was great. The Salmon BLT WRP in the spinach tortilla was fresh tasting and executed perfectly! I will definitely be back next summer When we return to Sturgeon Bay

We came for breakfast on a Saturday (off season). The restaurant was a house at one time so it is very small, but cozy. The ambiance is that of a B&B. I'm sure in the summer during tourist season it would be difficult to get immediate seating. The meals are made from local ingredients as much as possible. "Kim" cooks the meals herself. I had Kimz country skillet. The portion was huge. I couldn't get enough of the toast made from fresh baked bread. The price was very reasonable for the amount of food served. A meal of this quality is hard to find. We well be back to try some of the lunch specials.

Came from Chicago and read reviews on this place so stopped in for lunch. Good fresh food but worst service I have ever had. Will not be recommending or coming back. Had to ask for water a few times and just to have the server tell me to get my own water. Seemed like a joke.

You guys. EVERYTHING is homemade here. They make their bread from scratch, roast their meat, make their own sauces and roast veggies from local farmers. Very reasonable prices. Everything was fresh and delicious. Omelets can be made into breakfast burritos too. Very good breakfast!

This is a quaint blue house turned restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. We stopped in for breakfast and split the Titanic breakfast and were not disappointed. We sat on the porch; it was peaceful and very good. If you wanted coffee refills, you just got it yourself at their coffee bar. Their dinner menu, served only certain nights, looked wonderful, but unfortunately did not make it back to Kimz. My only criticism is that their porch crevices need fresh paint and a good washing....If you go to their website, you can print out a coupon for a free dessert w/dinner or free coffee w/breakfast entree. Relax here and enjoy the serenity.

Cozy place in town. We stopped by for breakfast after leaving Door county, and it was great. Super nice people. It seems very family run... with lots of love. We made an excellent choice.
